A Healthy Escape

Now that the holidays are over and the New Year has speedily set in, it is certainly the perfect time to collapse!!! Considering this is not an option for me, I have found other ways to mimic the time off that I desire but cannot expend. Any sliver of downtime I chance upon is grand and I always celebrate with my candles. I’m no stranger to candles. They’ve been rescuing me since the 80’s, these little vessels of calm. They allow me the light by which to reflect and the calm by which to breathe…deeply and from my belly. I remember my very first oil candle. It was round and covered in Japanese flowers. It felt so fancy to slowly pour the oil in and light the woven wick. My latest obsession is the soy candle. They are 100% USA-made, non-petroleum based and eco friendly. These healthy, happy candles melt into warm oil, bringing a whole new skill set to their politically correct resumes!!!

Holidays Rush In...

Here’s to a perfectly cozy time of year!!! Swapping out Margarita’s for Martini’s and brisk white wines for gorgeous reds. Storing away the outdoors and readying the fireplace for a season of cuddling. The house is dressed up in emboldened color and its warmth and well-being drag me home a bit faster each night. Curling up in happy abundance, we plan and prepare for the gatherings to commence. Good food, good wine, good friends, good times. Here’s wishing you the cheer of holidays rushing in!!!

Playing Vicariously

Though I never had the guts to get one, I was always intrigued with tattoos. There’s something so very cool about them. The way they sit boldly in the center of someone’s shoulder blades or tucked gently at the base of their neck. I couldn’t possibly make such permanent decisions in my own life. I have a hard enough time leaving Z Gallerie with confidence. Wondering all the way home if I’ve chosen just the right sconces to flank our living room couch? I can only imagine the pains I would take in choosing the perfect colors with which to trail my life around my ankle. Or deciding exactly where on my back my painted memories would sit best. At heart, I’m just not that courageous but I certainly love to pretend. There’s something to be said for being the prettiest lube in the room. This 4oz glass pump is fancy and she knows it. Perfectly happy gracing my nightstand, this silicone lubricant is shamelessly slippery and pumped full of Vitamin E and Aloe Vera. I recently found this silicone lube is multi-purposed to boot. Laying low on my hair product lately had left me in a Monday morning bind. Half asleep and ready to settle for the inevitable pony tail, I spotted my faithful lube sitting pretty and proud on top of my nightstand. A pump or two and my fingers were off, dashing amongst my curly locks. Before I knew it, I was out the door with my intolerable mane in control. Not bad for a Monday!!! While this lube is great in my hair and even better in bed, it doesn’t play well with silicone toys. Remember to use water-based lubricant when playing with your favorites.
